The auction for the 40 larger-than-life kangaroos ended last week with the Hop for Hop event raising over $160,000 for the Alannah and Madeline foundation. Read More
My contribution for Hop for Hope is finally finished! The 1.2m tall fibreglass kangaroo (now named “Jill”) patiently sat in my kitchen for almost a month while I painted, detailed and varnished her coat. She is now complete and awaiting delivery to the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery in Victoria where she will join the 39 other decorated kangaroos for the Hop for Hope exhibition. Read More
Hop for Hope is a collaborative art exhibition showcasing 40 larger-than-life fibreglass kangaroos decorated by iconic Australian artists and identities. The kangaroos will be showcased at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery before being auctioned to raise funds for the Alannah and Madeline Foundation– a charity raising funds to project children from violence and bullying. I am honoured to be one of the artists working on this project and I currently am in the midst of preparing my concept for the hands-on painting phase which will take place over the next couple of weeks.
