HOP FOR HOPE PAINTED KANGAROO

This was my contribution for the Hop for Hope fundraising art project. The 1.2m tall fibreglass kangaroo (named “Jill”) patiently sat in my kitchen for almost a month while I painted, detailed and varnished her coat. I recorded a complete timelapse of my process (below) and some photos I’ve taken of the finished paint job.

Hop for Hope is a collaborative art exhibition showcasing 40 larger-than-life fibreglass kangaroos decorated by iconic Australian artists and identities. The kangaroos were exhibited at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery for two months before being auctioned to fundraise for the Alannah and Madeline Foundation- a charity raising funds to project children from violence and bullying.
